Help Proxies

Proxies and the proxy sheet

Add proxies one by one or as a list, check them, read what a check found, and keep your own notes beside them.

Every profile goes out to the internet through a proxy, and sites see the proxy's address instead of yours. A profile takes its time zone and languages from the country its proxy comes out in, so a working, checked proxy is the first thing a good profile needs.

The proxy sheet#

Proxies on the left opens the sheet: one row per proxy, like a spreadsheet. In a team, Team and This computer at the top switch between the team's proxies and the ones kept on this computer only. The team's sheet is for the owner, admins and managers: a VA sees this computer's sheet only, and picks a team proxy in a profile's Proxy tab (What a VA sees).

  • Click a cell to change it: the label, type, host, port, login, password, notes and your own columns. Enter saves, Escape cancels.
  • The pencil on a row opens every field of that proxy in one window.
  • The pulse button checks that one proxy; the bin deletes it.
  • In a team, only the owner and admins see a team proxy's address, login and password. Everyone else sees hidden, and the profiles still work for them. The eye in the password column shows the login and password to those allowed.

Add one proxy#

  1. Press Add proxy. A new row opens at the top.
  2. Paste the whole line from your provider into the first box, for example 203.0.113.7:8000:login:password. Every field fills itself.
  3. Give it a label you will recognise, then press the tick to add it.

A line like host:port:user:pass does not say whether it is socks5 or http. SablePower asks the address and sets the type itself; meanwhile the button says Finding the type…. If the same proxy is already in the sheet, SablePower says so and offers Add it anyway.

Add a whole list#

  1. Press Paste a list.
  2. Paste the provider's list, one proxy per line. Lines starting with # are ignored.
  3. Optionally a Name prefix, like "acme batch 3", so one supplier's batch is easy to find later.
  4. Press Import n. Lines SablePower cannot read are listed with the reason, and nothing is saved from them.

Pasting does not check the proxies: two hundred checks is two hundred trips through two hundred exits. Tick the ones you need and check them afterwards.

Formats SablePower reads#

ShapeExample
host:port203.0.113.7:8000
host:port:user:pass203.0.113.7:8000:anna:s3cret
user:pass@host:portanna:[email protected]:8000
host:port@user:pass203.0.113.7:8000@anna:s3cret
With the typesocks5://anna:[email protected]:1080 or http://…
A CSV row203.0.113.7,8000,anna,s3cret
  • Types: socks5, http and WireGuard (paste the provider's whole .conf file in the proxy window). https proxies are refused for now: this version does not encrypt the connection to the proxy, so the login and the sites would travel in clear text. Use the provider's http or socks5 address instead.
  • Four fields are read as host:port:user:pass. If your provider writes user:pass:host:port, SablePower says so: rewrite the line, or use the user:pass@host:port shape.
  • socks4 is refused: it would look up site names on your own computer and give away your own internet provider. Use socks5.
  • IPv6 addresses go in brackets: [2001:db8::7]:8000.

Check a proxy#

A check goes through the proxy to a location service and asks where it comes out: the only way to know the exit, because only the far end can see it.

  • One proxy: the pulse button on its row, or Check proxy in the proxy window.
  • Some: tick them, then Check n.
  • All: Check all (n) at the top right.

The result stays on the row (Status, Location, Checked), and the profile's proxy picker shows it too. A check also says which platforms the proxy lets through (Sites).

Diagnose, beside Check proxy in the proxy window, goes step by step and says where it stops: the address, reaching the proxy, opening a connection through it, and what the world sees. It also says when the exit belongs to a hosting company instead of an internet provider, which sites that score addresses notice.

Checking a team proxy needs its login, which only owners and admins can open, so Check all counts only the proxies you can check.

What each result means#

Working, n ms: the proxy answered and the location services said where it comes out. The window lists Exit IP, Location, Time zone, ISP, Response (how fast) and Checked by (which service answered; services sometimes disagree about the city, so it is named).

Working, place unknown: the proxy works, but no location service would say where it comes out. They limit how often one address may ask, and a shared proxy address reaches that limit quickly. Try again in a while. The profile still opens if SablePower knew the place from an earlier check.

Not working, with a reason in a few words:

The sheet saysWhat it means, and what to do
wrong loginThe proxy refused the login or password. Check them with your provider.
login not acceptedThe proxy takes no login at all. Your provider probably lets in by IP address: add your computer's IP there (often called a whitelist), or ask for a login.
port refusedThe address is there, but nothing listens on that port. Check the port.
no answerNothing answers at this address and port. Check both, and whether the proxy is switched on.
timed outIt did not answer in time: switched off, or too slow right now. Try again.
no such addressThe proxy's name does not exist. Check the spelling.
no routeThis computer cannot reach the proxy. Check that the internet works here.
no internet behind itThe proxy took the login, but its exit could not reach any site right now. Try again in a minute, or ask your provider.
refused onwardThe proxy took the login but refused to go further. Your plan may not allow it; ask your provider.
no login savedThe proxy wants a login and password and none is saved for it. Add them.
out of dataThe proxy answered 402: the plan is out of traffic or not paid. Top it up or renew it.
not allowedThe proxy answered 403, or SOCKS reply 2: this computer's IP is probably not on its allow list, or the plan has ended. Some SOCKS proxies say this for a wrong login too. More.
too many connectionsThe proxy answered 429: more connections at once than the plan allows.
proxy errorThe proxy answered with an error of its own (500, 503). Try again in a minute.
hung upThe proxy closed the connection without a word: this computer's IP is not on its allow list, or the type is wrong.
wrong typeThe address answers as http and was asked as socks5, or the other way round. The proxy is fine: press Switch to … and check again.
server silentWireGuard: the server did not answer. A wrong key, an old config or a blocked port all look like this. Download a fresh config.
tunnel, no DNSWireGuard: the tunnel works but names do not resolve. Check the DNS line in the config.

A proxy that says Not working in the sheet but opens fine in a profile was usually checked a moment too early, before its type was found. Check it again.

Sites: which platforms the proxy lets through#

Some proxies are sold with a list of sites they may reach, and refuse every other site. So Check proxy also asks the proxy about each platform people open as an app: Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, Reddit, YouTube, Threads, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Telegram, Discord, Snapchat, WhatsApp, OnlyFans, Twitch and Google. For each one it asks the proxy for a connection the way a profile does, and closes it as soon as the proxy has answered. No page is loaded, so it costs almost no traffic, and they are all asked side by side, in a few seconds.

  • Works: the proxy let it through.
  • Blocked by the proxy, with what it answered, for example (403 not allowed): the proxy refuses that site. A profile on this proxy cannot open it, and its app window is not opened.
  • No clear answer: the proxy did not answer in time, or its exit could not reach the site this time. Check again later.

In Proxies the sites show on a line under the proxy's row after a check, until you press Hide the sites. In the profile window, the check also asks about the profile's own platforms, and says when the proxy blocks one of them, for example This proxy blocks TikTok, which this profile is for.

A site the proxy blocks is the provider's rule: SablePower cannot get around it, and never sends a site past the proxy. Use another proxy for that account, or ask the provider to allow the site on your plan. More.

The sheet's columns#

Label, Type, Host, Port, Login, Password, Status, Location, Exit IP, Time zone, ISP, Checked, Used by, Notes, Vendor link, Runs out and Price, then your own columns. Some are hidden at first so the sheet fits a laptop screen: the Columns button at the end of the header shows and hides them, remembered on this computer. Search still looks in hidden columns.

  • Used by: how many profiles go out through it.
  • Vendor link: your provider's page for it; the arrow opens it in your browser.
  • Runs out and Price: when the rental ends and what it costs, for your own records.

Your own columns#

Add column adds a column for anything the sheet does not have: the account, the SIM, who has it. Everyone who sees the sheet sees it. The pencil and the bin in its header rename or delete it; deleting a column removes what is written in it, on every proxy.

Notes and your own columns are not encrypted on the team server. Keep passwords in the password field, which is.

Show only some#

The Show menu: All proxies, Working, Not working, Not checked yet, Running out in 7 days, Duplicates (same address and login twice) and Not used by any profile. The search box finds labels, hosts, countries and notes.

A profile's proxy#

In the profile window, the Proxy tab has From the sheet (n) to pick one of your proxies (Find searches them), and New proxy to paste a new one, which becomes a new row of the sheet when you save the profile. Each proxy shows how many profiles use it.

Edit this proxy changes the row in the sheet, so it changes for every profile that uses it; the window says how many.

A profile without a proxy#

A profile can be made, copied and saved without a proxy: when you set up many accounts, each gets its own proxy afterwards instead of sharing one by accident. Its row says No proxy.

It does not open until it has one. Open says Set a proxy for this profile first. It never opens on this computer's own connection., and the row's Status says Set a proxy. The team server and SablePower on your computer both refuse it, so no window, app window, script or AI assistant opens it without a proxy.

To give it one: the profile window's Proxy tab, or tick the profiles and Proxy → above the list (Each its own gives each a proxy no other profile uses). Taking a proxy away is the same right as changing it.

Several profiles on one exit#

Profiles that share an exit look to sites like one household at best, so the list warns about it. If the accounts must not be linked, give each its own proxy: tick them, Proxy →, Each its own.

Deleting a proxy#

Profiles that used it keep everything else but cannot open until they get another proxy (A profile without a proxy). In a team, only the person who added a proxy, the owner or an admin can change or delete it.

Send a proxy to a phone#

If you use SablePhone, a proxy goes from SablePower to any user of your phones in one click.

  1. In SablePhone open Account, then SablePower on your computer, and press Make a key.
  2. In SablePower open Settings, Data, SablePhone, paste the key (it starts with spk_) and press Connect.
  3. Every proxy in the sheet, and the picked proxy in a profile's Proxy tab, now has Send to phone. It lists your phones and their users with the proxy each one goes out through now. Pick a user and press Send to with their name.

SablePhone checks the proxy and puts it on the phone at once, then says the address it comes out on. If the phone is offline, the proxy is saved and goes on as soon as the phone is back. Sending replaces the user's old proxy.

SablePhone takes SOCKS5 and HTTP proxies only. A team proxy needs its login, so only the owner and admins can send one; the team's activity log records it.

The key stays in this computer's keychain, so anyone using SablePower on this computer can send proxies to your phones. Disconnect removes it here; to stop it everywhere, remove it on your SablePhone Account page too.

Rotation link and IP checker#

In the proxy window: Rotation link keeps the link a mobile or rotating provider gives you for a new exit (it usually holds an API key, so treat it like a password). IP checker can name your own location service; empty uses the usual ones, asked in turn until one answers.
