Do social apps remove the location already?

Some do when you post, some keep it, and a photo sent as a file, by email or in a chat usually keeps it. Cleaning it first means you do not have to know which.

Does it make my photos worse?

No. Nothing in the picture is changed.

Which files can I use?

JPG, PNG, WebP and iPhone photos (HEIC) up to 40 MB, and MP4, MOV and WebM videos up to 300 MB.
